- The song playing at the club Ric and 'Star
visited was 'Sabotage'
by The Beastie Boys. This song was huge in 1994 and was actually played
extensively on MTV around the time X-Force #43 was published; a good indicator
that it was a tune the boys listened to often.
- Rictor/Shatterstar got a mention in the Showtime drama 'Queer As Folk'. In
episode 2.06 (2002), the character of Ben Bruckner is introduced as a customer
in the comic store of protagonist Michael Novotny. Ben is a Professor at the
local University and teaches a course about homosexuals featured in literature.
When in the comic store, he asks Mikey for some examples of homoeroticism in
comic books, and Michael offers some issues featuring the openly gay Northstar
as well as Rictor and Shatterstar (in X-Force). That can be viewed
here.
