Rictor
X-terminators/New
Mutants:
Rictor and the
fellow wards of
X-factor were
sent to a
boarding school
to avoid the
dangers of the
constant battles
X-factor were
surrounded with.
Rusty parted
with them then,
turning himself
in for horrors
that occurred
when his fire
powers emerged,
so Rictor was
left with the
girls. The peace
didn’t last
long, however,
due to Artie and
Leech being
kidnapped by
goblins. A new
kid, Taki helped
Rictor, Skids
and Tabitha
break out of the
school, and they
bust Rusty out
of prison to
assist. When
Rusty was
rescued, the
group decided to
become the
Junior
X-terminators to
save their
friends, and
find themselves
teaming with the
New Mutants,
eventually
joining with
them.
For the first
while, he seemed
to stick to his
X-terminator
friends, but
it’s not long
before he
accepts the New
Mutants as his
new family, and
allowed himself
get closer with
them.
When the kids
were flung into
Asgard due to
events
surrounding
Danielle
Moonstar, Julio
found himself
attached to
Tabitha, and
tried to be for
her like she was
for him in his
own time of
need. She pushed
him away, and he
became closer
with Rahne
issues later.
He, along with
his team mates
fought their way
through the
battle they had
been thrown
into, and in the
end, Julio ended
up gaining a
serious
affection for
Rahne. This was
something
Tabitha became
quite upset
about. When they
returned, she
attempted to
gain back his
attention, but
Rictor seemed
more focused on
Rahne, and
decided Tabitha
was just like a
sister to him.
When Cable
started leading
the New Mutants,
Julio gained an
instant dislike
for him, but he
did not reveal
to his friends
why until the
pages of
X-force. Cable
even helped save
him from
Sabertooth, an
event that did
not change
Rictor's feeling
in the least.
Though he still
carried dislike
and mistrust, he
began to respect
Cable in a small
sense. It was
through this
period that
Rictor showed
off his temper
for the real
first time. This
was be something
that would be
visited later.
Of course, due
to Cameron Hodge
never being able
to get enough of
Rictor, the poor
kid got captured
AGAIN. He, along
with various
members of his
team were taken
to Genosha by
use of nets and
teleportation
devices.
Boom-Boom,
Warlock, Storm
and Wolfsbane
were brought to
Genosha, but
only Rictor and
Boom-Boom were
able to escape
experimentation
or death.
(Warlock
sacrificed
himself in the
midst of things)
However, that
did not stop the
repression of
their abilities
that they had
been forced to
live with.
Though stripped of their powers, he and Tabitha met up after taking off, but ran into problems very quickly. This was due to their nature of just always getting into trouble. Jubilee saved them from mutates, and Wolverine forced her to team up with the pair. Such events led to the assumed take down of Hodge.
Though Rictor
remained
unaffected,
Rahne had
changed greatly,
and due to this,
she broke it off
with him.
She asked him
and Tabitha to
spread Warlock's
ashes over the
grave of Doug
Ramsey, and they
did just that. This
crossover
was pretty much
the last time
nice Julio
really showed
that nice kid
inside of him.
He was devastated
afterward, so he
ran away to go
find Rahne and
his happily ever
after. Clearly,
the kid had high
expectations,
and failed his
little rescue
mission. Some
time between his
searching for
Rahne, and his
return, he
became
hooked up with a
strike force who
is looking to
take down and
destroy Cable.
